Plain-language summary
This summary is for convenience only. The full provisions below form the legally relevant text.
1. Purpose
This Policy explains how Hostyt handles requests from law enforcement agencies, courts, regulators, and other competent authorities.
2. Contact
Official requests should be sent to legal@host.yt. Urgent abuse or safety requests may also be sent to abuse@host.yt.
3. Required information
- Agency name, officer name, badge or reference number, official email, and contact details.
- Legal basis, jurisdiction, and type of request.
- Specific account, domain, IP address, URL, invoice, timestamp, or service identifier.
- The exact data or action requested.
- Relevant court order, warrant, subpoena, preservation request, or statutory authority.
4. Review
We review requests for authenticity, jurisdiction, legality, scope, and proportionality. We may reject, narrow, or challenge requests that are informal, overbroad, unclear, unlawful, or not properly authorised.
5. Emergency requests
Emergency requests involving imminent risk of death, serious physical harm, child safety, or active severe cyber abuse should be clearly marked “Emergency”. We may request confirmation and supporting details before disclosure.
6. Preservation
We may preserve available account or service data for a limited period when we receive a valid preservation request. Preservation does not guarantee disclosure and does not create data that we do not have.
7. Customer notice
Where legally permitted and appropriate, we may notify affected customers. We may delay or omit notice if prohibited by law, court order, safety risk, investigation risk, or abuse risk.
8. Data minimisation
If disclosure is required, we aim to disclose only data reasonably necessary to comply with the valid request.
Updates
We may update this document from time to time. The version published on host.yt is the current version. If a change materially affects active paid services, we may notify affected customers by email, account notice, ticket, or another reasonable channel.
